Hadi started studying Japanese because he was interested in the Malaysian government’s Look East policy and because he loved Japanese anime. He first studied simple Japanese like greetings, but now he is studying Japanese systematically using the Marugoto website.

－What is your impression of using Marugoto to study Japanese?

Our prophet teaches us to gain knowledge by reading. By studying with Marugoto, I can learn how to study Japanese even through self-study. Before this, my resources for study were YouTube, anime and Google Translate, which were not as effective as Marugoto.

－What do you think are the advantages of Marugoto?

I think the advantages of Marugoto are that the learning style is more systematic and pronunciation and writing are easier to understand..

－Please let us know if you have any stories that demonstrate the effectiveness of your study with Marugoto?

I do not think that I have any story to demonstrate the effectiveness of my study, but I have managed to introduce myself and my family in the Japanese language, tell my friends about my daily life and describe the position of objects. However, I still have a problem in writing in hiragana and katakana.

－What phrases in Japanese do you like bestand why?

I like a lot of Japanese phrases, but if I had to choose one, it would be saiko さいこ，which means the best. As a handicapped person, I always tell myself to do my best. If you make your best effort, then people will notice you. The second on the list would be kibou きぼう,which means hope. It is not that I want hope, but I want to be the one who gives hope to others.

－Please let us know what you would like to do in the future using Japanese, if you have such a plan.

The ultimate mission when learning a language is to learn it from your surroundings. If you learn Arabic, you must go to the Middle East. Therefore, my plan would be a solo trip to Japan. Two things I need to complete first before going on this mission are to learn adequate nihongo for communication and to save enough money for that trip. Then, my next destination would be Japan.
